Afterschool & Summer Programs

Southwest Kids provides curriculum-based prevention, diversion and recreational opportunities during the school year through an after school program in the Alex and Chickasha communities. The Alex program is facilitated in a local church, Tuesday through Thursday afternoons from 3:30pm-5:30pm. The Chickasha program is facilitated at the Chickasha office Monday through Thursday afternoons from 3:30pm-5:00pm. We also provide short camps during school breaks. All of the Southwest Kids programs are FREE and we aim to provide transportation if needed.

The Southwest Youth and Family Policy and Procedure manual states:

Services  primarily include but are not limited to Individual and Group Community Based Prevention,  Group Education Services, Individual and Group Rehabilitative Treatment, Community/Home Based Services, Tutoring, Community Development, Community Education, and Recreation.  Character Counts, Within My Reach, It’s My Life, Girl Scouts, and Life Skills Training (LST) are a  few of the many curriculums used for Southwest Kids.

In order to increase accessibility and reduce the impact of these barriers, services will  be provided free of charge, in a variety venues, at diverse times, and with transportation available,  as needed and appropriate. Services may be provided in school, as part of an after school  program, or during summer, spring break, and holiday camps.
