Counseling Services Offered
Screening – A brief interview and/or questionnaire used to determine whether the person seeking assistance needs further assessment for mental health, problem or pathological gambling, and/or alcohol and other drug issues.
Assessment and Diagnostic Impression - On-going evaluation process with the consumer to collect his or her historical and current biopsychsocial information and to identify strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences in order to determine a plan for recovery resulting in a written summary report and recommendations.
Treatment Plan Development – The evaluation of assessment and diagnostic information in order to develop a written individualized treatment plan.
Treatment Plan Review – A comprehensive review and evaluation of the current efficacy of the treatment, which includes review the treatment plan with the consumer and modifying it as necessary.
Individual Counseling – A method of treating mental health and alcohol and other drug (AOD) disorders using face to face, one on one interaction between counselor and patient to promote emotional or psychological change to alleviate disorders.
Group Counseling – A method of treating mental health and AOD disorders using interaction between a counselor and two or more consumers to promote positive emotional or behavioral change.
Family Counseling – A face-to-face interaction between a counselor and family to facilitate emotional, psychological, or behavioral changes and promote successful communication and understanding.
Individual Rehabilitative Treatment Services – A face-to-face service which is performed to assist consumers who are experiencing significant functional impairment due to mental illness and/or AOD disorders in order to increase skills necessary to perform activities of daily living and function in the community.
Group Rehabilitative Treatment Services – Behavioral health remedial services, which are necessary to improve the patient’s ability to function in the community. Examples include educational and supportive services, basic livings skills, self-care, and social skills.
Case Management – Planned referral, linkage, monitoring and support, and advocacy assistance provided in partnership with a consumer to support the consumer in self and community tenure. Follow-up contact and crisis diversion services may also be provided as part of case management.
Crisis Call – A phone number that is available to clients twenty-four (24) hours a day.
Education - Sharing relevant information specifically focused on increasing the awareness of the community and the receptivity and sensitivity of the community concerning gambling issues and services. A systematic presentation of selected information to impart knowledge or instructions on topics that impact a consumer’s recovery from problem and pathological gambling, to increase understanding of specific issues or programs, and to examine attitudes or behaviors which may stimulate social action or community support of the program and the consumers.
Discharge Planning - Beginning at admission, the process of determining a consumer’s continued need for treatment services and of developing a plan to address ongoing consumer post-treatment and recovery needs.
After Care Program – Group and individual services will be available to clients as needed after discharge. Continued attendance to AA, NA, and/or GA will be encouraged.
Peer Recovery Support Services - Acknowledging the unique value in consumers developing meaningful connections with persons who have lived experience and are able to demonstrate their own hopefulness and recovery. These activities are facilitated by a person with lived experience and who is also an ODMHSAS certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist; offered to both consumers (age 16 and older) and their families; based on individualized, recovery-focused service philosophy that allows individuals the opportunity to learn to manage their own recovery and advocacy process; provided in any supervisor-approved location primarily through face-to-face contact with telephone contact as necessary to aid the consumer in achieving her or his goals; and designed to enhance the development of natural supports, coping skills, and other skills necessary to function as independently as possible in the community, including, but not limited to, assisting re-entry into the community after a hospitalization or other residential setting.
